Wanna know why Tricast Mail is better than the competition? Here are the reasons… just 2 of the many reasons why the forthcoming release v1.5 will up the ante for mobile messaging market and give the consumer a better choice.

Powerful attachment viewer that renders and displays all your WORD, EXCEL, PPT, PDF and images (GIF, JPG, PNG, BMP) in its un-tethered form, i.e. what you see on your desktop is what you would expect on your mobile.

Direct Input - Notice that although Tricast Mail is a midlet, and with midlet we know that whenever you need to type something in a textbox, you would be brought to another screen to enter the text. But with Tricast Mail, we have made this easier for you with our “Direct Input” technology. We created our very own text entry UI component that makes typing long email on easy and no hassle. Compare this with the competition and tell us the difference.
Our positioning for Tricast Mail is not to go directly after the RIM Blackberry market. Our vision is to deliver cheap, good, fast, better mobile email client that targets mass market consumer handsets, not just high-end expensive smartphones. Most people carry a phone that comes with J2ME pre-installed. Tricast Mail is built on top of J2ME, if it is MIDP 2.0, chances are we can support that device, already 51 devices are on our support list and this list is still growing each month… we aim to bring no-fuss, rich feature mobile messaging software to the man-in-the-street…. allowing them to access POP3, IMAP4, webmails with a fancy and easy to use user interface. IT is this group of “casual, social” type of mail users we target. People who wants quick access to email on their phones, but who do not want to fork out so much to pay for expensive, bulky smartphones or dedicated email device.
In essence, we wanna target the “prosumers”… Even though smart phones are getting cheaper, we believe that our “mass-market” solution still appeal to professional users. These “prosumers,” as they are called, are people whose professional lives and personal lives have blended together. They use their cell phones not only for staying in touch with friends and family, but also for business. And even though they may not be high enough on the corporate food-chain to expense a BlackBerry or Treo, they want to get their business e-mail on their phones.
From the outset, TCM has had a simple mission: to bring mobile messaging to the masses… That means developing a service that can easily run over any phone, over any service, and at a price point that makes sense to the average consumer. Tricast Mail promises to “transform regular cell phones into smart devices” that are optimized to send and receive non-voice messages. Our aim has always been to bring the promise of BlackBerry and Treo — functional and practical mobile messaging, to the masses. By focusing on delivering high-value services over commodity phones, and by teaming with consumer/operator brands for white-label solutions to bring these services to market, we want to make mobile messaging a mass-market play.
